Most young ladies at the tender age of 16 prefer their horse power to be of the four legged variety.
However the latest sensation on four wheels is diminutive Lancashire girl HAYLEY PARKINSON.
In the rough and tumble World of Stock Car Racing at just 16 years of age Hayley takes on the big boys in the World’s toughest motorsport, BriSCA Formula One – 8 cubic litres and 600 brute horsepower!
Hayley is the latest starlet to enter the world of BriSCA Formula One Stock Car Racing, a sport where female racers are a rarety.
With up to 30 cars crammed on to a small oval with speeds of up to 70 mph and full contact not only allowed – but part of the rules, Formula One Stock Car Racing is a unique speed and action spectacle unrivalled in any other motorsport.
Hayley competes on BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY in a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROUND at Manchester’s BELLE VUE STADIUM at 6.pm against up to 60 of the Nations top drivers.
Her debut meeting was just two weeks ago at the same venue where she acquitted herself well and has since raced at two venues in the Midlands but this will be her toughest challenge yet.
Having cut her racing teeth in the Junior Ministox racing category [ for 10 – 15 year olds] at Warton
Raceway the decision was made for Hayley to take up F1 and former multiple World Champion John Lund has been a guiding light for the Lancashire youngster.
