May 18, 2006 (Press Release) -- San Diego, CA, May 18, 2006 – Safe Passage System announced today the successful mobile deployment of a GE EntryScan3 unit. The EntryScan3 was originally design for permanent placement and was successfully retrofitted by Safe passage Systems in a laboratory quality mobile unit. The EntryScan3 maintained power, calibration, and temperature balance over highway and road travel. The proof of concept ensures the mobile ion scan continues to detect narcotics and explosives while housed as a mobile solution.
CEO David Warren said, “This proof of concept ensures quick, mobile response with the latest in narcotic and explosive screening equipment is available to any at-risk environment – even those without a government budget to fall back on.” Initial market’s for Safe Passage System’s deployment include sporting events, heavy equipment work sites, and military sub-stations.
Currently used in airports throughout the United States, the EntryScan is a walk through portal that detects if a person has been in contact with narcotics or explosives in the last 72 hours. With screening and detection capabilities based an ultra-sensitive Ion Trap Mobility Spectrometer (ITMS®) technology, the ES3 is a high-throughput, non-intrusive walk-through portal that enables rapid detection of both explosives and narcotics. Microscopic traces of C4, nitroglycerin, PETN, RDX, Semtex and TNT can easily be detected and identified. In addition, cocaine, heroin, THC and methamphetamine can also be identified in a non-intrusive manner.
ABOUT SAFE PASSAGE SYSTEMS - Safe Passage Systems is a veteran owned, San Diego, CA based corporation specializing in private, temporary, and mobile Homeland Security services for at-risk environments.
