Mother and Daughter Cathy Ann Johnson notable children’s book illustrator will present a Multi-media artistic lecture and discussion session:
Creatively raising an creative child
Children’s book Illustrator Cathy Ann Johnson and Mother Lucille Johnson Walker will host a question and answering session on raising and fostering creativity in our children.
Children’s book Illustrator Cathy Ann Johnson will share example of professional work, and her up and coming books collaboration with son Clinton Love Johnson. Cathy Ann Johnson will also share her personal experiences of single parenting her son Clinton Love Johnson.
Cathy Ann Johnson was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. In assisting the shaping of her life, were her parents Clinton and Lucille Johnson who raised five children of which she is the middle child. Cathy’s mother ran an in home daycare center in the urban community. It was the encompassment of Cathy’s upbringing an environmental influence that inspired the beautiful, warm imaginative images and situations we experience in her work. Many of the children brought to her home were abandoned or were unofficial foster children. Cathy has always had a passion to draw and a love for children’s literature. She would frequently sneak to the neighborhood library to read and draw as many children’s books as she could Many times her unauthorized disappearances would be rewarded with unwelcome consequences from her mother.
