June 2, 2006 (Press Release) --
ANACORTES, WA – Summer is almost here, and it is time to go WILD… with fresh wild salmon, shipped direct from the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Working closely with premier specialty fisheries, SeaBear Company of Anacortes, Washington will offer customers all across the U.S. one-of-a-kind culinary experiences featuring premier wild salmon. “The Pacific Northwest is home to the world’s best wild salmon runs,” says Mike Mondello, SeaBear president, “and we’ve worked with the most distinctive of these to develop a whole summer of fresh & wild events.” Three offerings make up the program:
SHIPS: JUNE 9TH – JUNE 25TH
Straight from the River Copper River Sockeye Salmon - 8 dinner size (6 oz.) fillets for $74.99*
The most celebrated wild salmon run in the world happens in Alaska’s famous Copper River. For the 7th year in a row, SeaBear will be at the mouth of the river, hand-selecting fish; the week of June 12th (just in time for Father’s Day) SeaBear will ship fresh Copper River Sockeye salmon for next-day delivery direct to customers’ homes all across the U.S.
SHIPS: JULY 25TH – AUGUST 15TH
Reef Net Fraser River Sockeye Salmon - 1 ½ lb fillet (feeds 4) for $42.99*
Reef netting is a centuries-old method of salmon fishing, first practiced by Native Americans; today there are only 11 licensed reef netters in the world. This unique micro-fishery has a story rich in history; sustainability; and, of course, a salmon which delivers a truly world-class culinary experience… the Frasier River Sockeye. We have secured a limited amount for our customers this summer.
SHIPS: AUGUST 29TH – SEPTEMBER 15TH
Copper River Silver Salmon - 1 ½ lb fillet (feeds 4) for $42.99*
While the early summer run on Alaska’s Copper River gets all the attention, this late-season run of Silver salmon produces a spectacular wild salmon. Silver (“Coho”) salmon offer big, moist flakes, a mild yet flavorful salmon taste and are simply fantastic for grilling. The timing makes it perfect for Labor Day barbeques and tailgating events.
