Judges (from local companies and prominent industry figures) will judge each students project from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m., during the mixer. There will be no charge to attend the Scholarship Mixer, however, parking is not included.
The Tech Point Scholarship Mixer is to encourage emerging design talent and to promote the students within the technology industry. The Industry Scholarship Mixer will provide the opportunity for students from Brooks College, DeVry, Westwood, Long Beach City College, Touro University, and Cal State Long Beach to meet and network with prospective employers in the Graphic Design, Multimedia, Animation, and Technology Industries.
Industry professionals will be among the first to preview the work of the students who will participate in the Tech Point Scholarship Mixer. The students will be awarded scholarships of $300.00 in areas of 2D Animation, 3D animation, Illustration, Graphic Design, Video Design, Web Design, Engineer Design, and Network Design. There will be a grand Scholarship of $1,000.00 to the student that is judged Best of Show. Members of the Long Beach community are especially encouraged to attend this event.

Among the judges will be Bruce Smith. Bruce Smith is one of the animation industrys leading designer-directors. Together with Hyperion Pictures, Smith founded Jambalaya Studio, an animation company focused on producing racially diverse projects.
The mission of Tech Point is to improve the Long Beach technology landscape for the benefit of member companies and the community. Tech Point sponsors an annual Scholarship program for technology-related studies for students in Long Beach area colleges, such as Brooks College, DeVry University, Cal State Long Beach, Long Beach City College, Touro University, and Westwood College. This will be its third scholarship event.
