Tech High School Class of '56 is having a 50th Reunion Celebration on Sept. 30 at Raddison South in Fort Worth.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 3, 2006 --
Hello fellow alumnus!
The ball started rolling for our 50th reunion last October 2005. Two guys, Norm Brock and Jerry Carwile, prodded me to get us together. Enoch Bond talked with Bob Ezell, Gloria (Markum) Mathews, Joyce (Gornto) Cotharn, and Carolyn (Prescott) Pritchett. We all met, except Gloria who had a health problem, the first part of April and selected Raddison South as the place. It's located at I-35 and Alta Mesa. We had already set the date for September 30th, 2006. After meeting with the motel personnel we decided on a bar-be-que buffet that includes three meats: beef, chicken, and sausage. We also negotiated to start at 3:30pm until 1:00am Sunday morning. Drinks may be purchased at the motel bar and we will have a dance floor for those who want to dance. There will be a photographer taking photos and we plan to have a Directory for sale.
Each alumnus will receive a folder with a CD of 50's songs, trivia about the 50's and trivia about Rod Roddy, and Darrell Glenn, and Willie Nelson.
We will have a program with some of the alumni speaking,(Hopefully John Marshall will come from Chula Vista, CA), Rosemary Wallace West, Dr. Bob Ezell, Gail Bell Arnold and Enoch Bond, and Mr. Bob McAbee, Senior Sponsor, on "The Old Tech," and Mr. Omar Ramos, present principal, "The Future of Tech."
We're trying to get James Reza's band to play and maybe get one other entertainer.
We have located over 200 alumni and sent out invitations. You can RSVP by sending a check or money order for $40 per person to 1956 Ft. Worth Tech Alumni at 500 Stallion Ln., Fort Worth, Texas 76179.
Most everyone I have talked to is very excited and are really looking forward to visiting with friends. One that I can personally name is Louis Blakley who lived one block from me.
Hope to see you there.......Enoch Bond
