FlopTurnRiver.com (FTR), one of the fastest growing online poker communities with over 6,900 registered members and over 320,000 poker forum articles, continues to build on its varied list of free poker features with the launch of the FTR Gauntlet - FTR's own private online poker league. FlopTurnRiver has set itself apart from the crowd by focusing on building a fun, friendly, and very skilled poker community. And to build on FTR's sense of community, the site has added a section dedicated to its online poker league, available to all FTR members.
The FTR Gauntlet will soon be entering its 4th season at FlopTurnRiver. However, this season, FlopTurnRiver has completely rebuilt and totally integrated software systems to manage all aspects of the online poker league. The FTR Gauntlet section has systems to manage player registration, point tracking, player ranking and standings, point distribution, and tournament schedules! The Gauntlet itself is free to join. The season consists of a series of twenty-four multi-table tournaments. Each player is permitted to play a maximum of twelve tournaments during the course of the season, and may choose which tournaments to enter. All of these tournaments are quite affordable - with either a $5 or $10 buy-in. The top finishers of each individual tournament will collect and keep the tournament cash prizes as in any online tournament. FTR insists on low stake buy-ins for their league tournaments because the focus is not winning each other's money, but playing for fun, bragging rights, and the coveted FTR Gauntlet Trophy.
FTR will keep a leaderboard based on a point system. The leaderboard will be updated following every event with the latest standings. At the conclusion of the season, prizes will be awarded to the top three league finishers. Those prizes will be determined each season, but first place will take home the FTR Gauntlet Trophy.
