June 7, 2006 (Press Release) --
Bangkok, 5 June 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that it has maintained its #2 market share position in both the Service Provider and High-End Enterprise Routing markets with 21.8 percent and 29 percent, respectively, for the quarter ending March 31, 2006, according to a report issued by Synergy Research Group. In the Service Provider Routing category, Juniper has also maintained its #2 market share position in the key service provider Core and Edge Routing categories for more than 14 consecutive quarters with 38.2 percent service provider core and 14.3 percent service provider edge market share in the quarter.
“It was another strong quarter for Juniper maintaining their number two market share position in both high-end enterprise and service provider routing market share, including the key service provider core and edge markets, which they have maintained for more than three years,” said Jeremy Duke, president and CEO, Synergy Research Group. “Juniper remains solid in both categories because it continues to deliver the performance, reliability and scale that service providers and enterprises alike require as they consolidate their networks on advanced, IP-based multiservice networks.”
Synergy’s total service provider Edge Routing category is made up of the Carrier Ethernet: Access Aggregation and Edge Router (BRAS and Services Edge) sub-segments. In Synergy’s Edge Router sub-segment, Juniper maintained its number #2 position in Q1 2006 with 20.4 percent of the market. Juniper also had a #2 market share position both in the BRAS sub-segment with 39.5 percent and Multiservice Edge with 22.2 percent.
Juniper Networks’ service provider edge routing portfolio features the M-series Multiservice Routers and the E-series Broadband Services Routers that uniquely combine best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, performance and service flexibility. The M-series enables providers to consolidate multiple networks onto a single IP/MPLS infrastructure, while simultaneously generating new revenues with services such as Voice over IP (VoIP). Juniper Networks’ E-series platforms are a central component of the broadband edge, and are deployed in the largest IPTV and multiplay networks in the world.
The T-series product family delivers the unique combination of advanced routing features, best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities, as well as unmatched reliability and scale to make it the ideal platform for high capacity core applications. With TX Matrix technology, the T-series provides a seamless migration path to enable providers to scale to multi-terabit speeds. The T-series leverages JUNOS, the industry's only operating system that combines proven reliability with a development cycle that ensures continuous, non-disruptive feature and functionality enhancements.
