IEI introduces a 6W-only 3.5" SBC with an AMD LX CPU, RAID 0,1 and JBOD, dual LAN and SATA Support

IEI Technology Corp. introduces the new RoHS compliant, low power WAFER-LX 3.5” AMD LX processor based SBC with an onboard AMD CS5536 chipset.
Features of WAFER-LX includes:
• Green Product
The new WAFER-LX helps round out the IEI product line by offering RoHS-converted to several existing IEI SBCs with Geode processor as well as being a strong new board entry in its own right. This allows customers to upgrade existing solutions to the AMD LX processors in RoHS.
• Low Power
The 3.5" WAFER-LX is available with an embedded low power AMD LX 800MHz processor, operates at temperatures of up to 60° C (140° F) and typically consumes only 6 Watts while supporting numerous peripherals.
• The Best Choice for Thin Client
With total power consumption of only 6W, powerful performance capabilities, a compact size and embedded software, the IEI WAFER-LX is specifically designed for fanless, space limited embedded applications in critical operational environments. For example, the WAFER-LX is ideal for thin client restaurant applications where ordering, cooking and billing systems demand hardware performance and reliability. The WAFER-LX supports Windows XP/CE/XPE thin client OS image.
• RAID Function Protection/ Extra Data Security
The onboard SATA RAID function is another unique design feature of the WAFER-LX. IEI SATA RAID Storage Technology enables faster storage performance with data striping and protects against data loss when a hard drive fails by mirroring all the data across multiple devices.
Some other WAFER-LX features include the AC’97 Realtek ALC203 audio function, dual Ethernet interfaces, an 18-bit TTL interface, a parallel port, four USB2.0 interfaces, two SATA interfaces, two RS-232 interfaces and one RS-422/485 interface. The SSD solution supports CompactFlash cards Type II.
