MedicTag LLC partners with MediSoft S.A. to provide MedicTag USB emergency medic information and alert units to Mexico and Latin America

MedicTag LLC has entered into an agreement with MediSoft S.A. to provide a Spanish version of their medic information and alert device to MediSoft S.A. for use in their effort to develop integrated e-health software that spans the electronic healthcare needs for the entire country of Mexico.
MedicTag uses a USB flash drive to store emergency information such as identification, existing medical conditions, medications, doctors, surgeries and emergency contacts. It uses a simple software menu that makes it very user friendly and the device will work with most USB capable computers.
Medical bracelets, ID tags and jewelry are routinely looked for by EMS personnel and first responders to determine a patient's special medical needs. MedicTag is hoping that its USB device will establish a leading presence within the industry because unlike the bracelets that offer just an alert of a medical condition, the new product will provide detailed emergency medical information about a patient, information that is essential to the rapid diagnosis and proper treatment of a patient in a life threatening situation.
The device is of particular value to first responders because they are able to insert the USB drive into any computer, many EMS units now have laptop computers in their vehicles, and immediately gain access to a person's emergency information even if the patient is unconscious. Changes to the information stored on the device can be made quickly and easily, whenever necessary, allowing the information to be kept up to date by the user.
MediSoft S.A., working with the major medical associations in Mexico, is developing integrated software to make patient medical records compatible to all user systems allowing transportability of electronic records from one healthcare provider to another throughout Mexico and are integrating MedicTag with their Doctors Management Software. The MedicTag USB device is an easy to use and convenient to carry storage unit that will allow the patient to have their information available when presenting to a healthcare provider anywhere in the country allowing the patients information to be seamlessly integrated into the provider’s database. The provider will input information so that the individual’s records are kept current, providing the patient with a transportable continuity of care record. MediSoft S.A. plans to implement the program starting mid-summer 2006.
In response to requests from several areas in Central and South America MediSoft S.A. is also setting up a network of distributors and retailers to market the Spanish version of MedicTag throughout Latin America. MedicTag said that this is just a first step in providing safer, more accurate medical care for people worldwide.
