Celeste Holm throws old fashioned Hollywood reception at her New York home for her 89th Birthday. Over 100 people attend.

New York, NY - April 28th, 2006 - Celeste Holm, grand dame of stage, screen and countless television performances, celebrated her 89th birthday in good old fashioned Hollywood style. The winner of a Golden Globe and an Academy Award, Ms. Holm is best known for her roles in Gentleman’s Agreement and All About Eve. She is considered a legend in the film and theatrical communities.
The elaborate celebration was held in Ms. Holm’s palatial New York apartment overlooking Central Park. Over 100 guests attended the private party, including long-time friend Kitty Carlisle Hart, Rita Gam, Robert Osborne, Rex Reed, Governor Tom Cain, Senator Roy Goodman, and KT Sullivan, among others.
Billy Stritch, renowned cabaret pianist, crooner and Liza Minnelli protégé, was on hand to entertain the guests. Several guests gathered around the baby grand in an impromptu sing along. Celeste's husband of two years, opera singer Frank Basile, also sang some songs to the birthday girl.
