June 12, 2006 (Press Release) --
Connexions is a service giving free advice and information to young people and having a strong team of advisers is essential. The Cotswold Conference Centre gave them a great day of team building and fun that proved positive in every way.
A team of staff from Connexions Gloucestershire went to The Cotswold Conference Centre for a fun packed day of team building, and were both surprised and delighted with the quality of their day: “Thanks a lot to those who organized it. It was great fun and well facilitated” (member of the Connexions Gloucestershire team). 93% of those on the team-building day said that the day was excellent or very good in terms of how enjoyable it was, with 79% agreeing that it will help them work better with colleagues in the future.
The Cotswold Conference Centre offers facilities for everything from media training to team building. As well as it’s high-tech training suites; the centre uses its acres of stunning grounds to its advantage. The team building can be as short as a single ‘eye-opener’ activity or as long as a day packed with problems and puzzles, that not only tax the body and mind but encourage team work, motivation and trust. For example in one of the activities, ‘Okavango’ three gems are hidden within three pipes. The gems must be retrieved using only the water found nearby and the equipment in their activity pack. This emphasizes the need for clear and thorough project planning prior to action. Once the plan has been agreed, the team has just 5 minutes to successfully complete the task.
Eleanor Barry, organizer of the event and team member of Connexions Gloucestershire was keen to express that “the food was great; freshly prepared and hot – which was very welcome having been out in the cold - and the catering staff were cheery and very helpful. The room facilities were excellent; light, roomy and contained everything we needed with the added bonus of tea/coffee available throughout the day.” The figures speak for themselves as 100% of the connexions staff thought that the venue was very good or excellent!
