Actors For Autism Summer Enrichment Program is now accepting applications! The program is designed to bring children with special needs and their typical peers together in a safe environment. Kids ages 6– 17 are grouped according to age and skill level, and will participate in activities ranging from arts and crafts to life skills to physical education, which includes learning skills necessary for individual and team sports and activities. The intent is to further develop friendships and life skills while having fun. Enroll early, space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis.
The program will take place July 10th through August 18th 2006. Monday through Thursday from 9AM– 3PM, Fridays 9AM– 1PM. Enrichment activities will revolve around the improvement of social skills and interaction, employing acting and animation workshops to round out this unique, fun, and educational experience. “Fun Fridays”, held at the end of each week, will give campers the opportunities to relax and have fun, while participating in picnics, games, non-competitive sports, and prizes. Camp directors will include industry professionals Adam Shawn, Marshall Tichenor, and Actors for Autism executive director Alisa Wolf M.Ed. Tuition for the program is $475 USD per week. Actors For Autism is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with autism. Opening doors of opportunity, creating possibility.
