Bolingbrook, IL – Local Bolingbrook residents Fredrick Larks, and his wife, author Michelle owners of F&M Enterprises are sponsoring the Bolingbrook Black Expo in Bolingbrook IL. The event is the first of what the couple envision of many more to follow. The event will showcase local businesses in and around the Chicago land area, focusing on Bolingbrook small businesses. Local, and out-of-state vendors, and authors will be on hand for the festivities.
The Larks’ mission statement for the Expo is to showcase Bolingbrook's businesses and strengthen our community from an economic standpoint doing our part to move towards a stronger future.
The Expo will be held Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Ditka’s Dome, located at 730 Bolingbrook Drive, from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm. The Bolingbrook Expo committee comprised of Fred and Michelle Larks, Dionne Hill, Jim Canady, and Echol Chapman, have put a lot of effort into planning a good time for the attendees.
Activities include meeting and greeting business owners, authors, crafters, prize raffles, a fashion show, an award winning stepping group, and musical entertainment.
Corporate sponsors include, Walgreen, Auto Zone, Firestone Tires, West Suburban Bank, US Bank, and others. Bolingbrook and Airborne Taxi will provide shuttle service between the dome and Jewel Food Store.
The Larks plan to make donations to a local homeless, and Guardian Angels, a battered women’s shelter, located in Joliet, IL. During the upcoming school year, the couple plans to work closely with the Valley View school system to establish a writing contest to award funds to a graduating high school senior in 2007.
