June 15, 2006 (Press Release) --
The Writers' Copyright Association (www.wcauk.com) today announced it has slashed prices of its script registration services.
That means that writers can register their intellectual property (screenplay, book etc) for less than the price they pay at the Writers Guild of American (WGA), Writers Guild of Canada (WGC) and Writers Guild of Australia (AGW).
For years, the WCA has been the leading service provider of copyright registration and protection in Europe, but had few customers in North America due to the heavy dominance of the WGA, which has been around for over 60 years.
The price drop will no doubt be welcomed by writers everywhere but is sure to upset the very conservative Writers'Guild of America.
WCA Managing Director Jonathan Newman commented "As part of our ongoing commitment and vision to writers around the world, registration and protection of literary material should be cheap and easy. We have been market leaders in Europe, and with this dramatic price drop in North America, Canada and Australia, we welcome writers, Guild members or not, to register their work with us."
The WCA also offers a unique and innovative Worldwide registration service, whereby writers can protect their work internationally, a service not currently on offer by any Guild around the world.
