Philadelphia, PA: The Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) wrapped up their five-day, 15th Anniversary Annual Conference, held May 4-8, 2006, at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, with the largest turnout in the Association’s history. Approximately 300 image professionals from over 21 countries attended this conference to network, negotiate, and intensify skills and strategies in running their individual image consulting businesses. Among those attending this whirlwind conference was Ms. Renu Dalal-Jain, AICI, MS, of the Ohio/Pennsylvania Chapter of AICI, who practices in both Philadelphia and Bombay and Pune, India.
“The business of image is booming, fueled in large part by the overwhelming audience response to reality TV shows,” states AICI’s International President Marion Gellatly, AICI, CIM. “These shows have created permission for ordinary business and professional people to seek out image consultants as another essential tool to improve their business and social quests.” As a Certified Image Master, one of the very few in the world, Gellatly stresses that attendees come to these annual conferences for education and inspiration from top experts in the image field. Workshops were conducted by 37 global image speakers from countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany as well as the United States.
“AICI stresses Education, Experience and Excellence.” affirms Gellatly. “We have three levels of certification: At this conference over 125 attendees sat for the First Level Certification, which will allow them to use the initials, AICI, after their name. The Second Level is Certified Image Professional (CIP) and, ultimately, Certified Image Master (CIM). Conference attendees get really pumped up when they attend the yearly AICI Conference. I think of the Annual Conference as Boot Camp for the image consultant.”
Renu Dalal-Jain, the owner and principal consultant of Flair Consulting, is a graduate of The Image Maker Inc. School. Before returning to her first love of fashion and style, Dalal-Jain completed her M.S. with Honors, in International Marketing, from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, and worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Dalal-Jain has also worked in the fashion industry in India as a model, fashion show choreographer and clothing designer.
Dalal-Jain regularly writes articles on style, fashion and time-saving techniques, which are published in a wide variety of national magazines and websites. She has been interviewed on CBS Television in Philadelphia, PA, profiled in The Indus Business Journal, and has been quoted in such well-known publications as the Indianapolis Star and the Baltimore Sun Times. She is a member of the Association of Image Consultants International, National Association of Female Executives, National Association of Women Business Owners, and Ladies Who Launch™.
