June 19, 2006 (Press Release) --
BURBANK, Calif., June 20, 2006 – Actress Hallie Todd (“Jo McGuire” in the Disney Channel TV series “Lizzie McGuire”) is hosting summer workshops for young actors, ages 8-19, at In House Media in Burbank. Students can choose from two sessions, June 26-July 7 or July 17-28. Workshops are held daily, Monday through Friday: 9:00AM-12:30PM for ages 8-11, 1:30-5:00PM for ages 12-15, and 6:00-9:30PM for ages 16-19. More information and registration are available online at www.inhousemedia.com or by calling 1-800-448-9700.
The intensive 2-week workshops include improvisation, scene study and on-camera training. Each student will receive a professionally produced demo reel of his or her best work.
Recently ABC’s “Primetime Live” featured a segment about Todd and her studio, In House Media. In addition, The New York Times Magazine for June 4 spotlighted Todd in an extensive article about acting schools in Hollywood. “I believe in actors of all ages being trained,” says Todd. “I am proud to say that the kids who study at In House Media stand out from the thousands of other young performers who are trying to succeed in the business.”
According to Todd, “For young performers, the life benefits of acting workshops are numerous. These include improving critical thinking skills, overcoming shyness, learning memorization techniques, making new friends and enjoying ‘the magic of performing.’”
Todd is also the author of a seven-book collection geared toward young actors and their parents. The books are available through In House Media at the workshops and through the company’s website at www.inhousemedia.com.
Todd’s television series “Lizzie McGuire” remains a popular fixture on the Disney Channel. The series will launch in syndication on Chicago’s Superstation WGN this fall, adding an additional 68 million households to its audience. The syndication deal is a first for a Disney Channel program.
Hallie Todd’s summer acting workshops are presented at In House Media, 4200 Burbank Blvd, 4/10 mile west of Hollywood Way. Class and registration information is available online at www.inhousemedia.com or by calling 1-800-448-9700.
