Anita’s Vintage Fashion Fairs (AVFF) is a business formed by Anita Bott after the end of her previous partnership known as Battersea Vintage Fashion Fairs.
Anita’s Vintage Fashion Accessories & Textiles Fair (AVFF),opens on Sunday 25 June at Battersea Arts Centre. Recently voted No.16 out of 100 in Vogue’s “Guide to the Greatest Shops off the Beaten Track” and with a great write-up in “Essential Guide to London’s Retro Shops”, Vintage Fairs at Battersea have secured pole position as London’s foremost vintage fashion event amongst “aficionados”.
Here you could rub shoulders with celebrities such as Bob Geldof, Jenny Agutter, fashion designers (Tracey Boyd, Julian Macdonald, Nicole Farhi, Robert Cary-Williams, Eley Kishimoto to name but a few), stylists, top models and costume designers for stage, film and TV - as they eagerly search through the vintage clothing racks and displays crammed with accessories, to hunt down rare, time-travelled treasures such as Vintage Biba, Zandra Rhodes, YSL, Vivienne Westwood and Dior amongst others.
Stallholders come from all over the UK, France, New York and Hungary, with stalls specialising in everything from vintage buttons and trimmings to 18th century costume and high fashion from the ‘20’s to the ’60’s.
Vintage fashion fairs at Battersea are now acknowledged as the best in London. Their appeal is merely not confined to London; visitors from as far abroad as Japan, China, Australia, New York and Europe make frequent appearances.
AVFF vendors each have their own area of speciality, so make sure to stop by all the stands. Whether you are a ‘Sex in the City’ fan trying to recreate the Sarah Jessica Parker show-stopping outfits or replicate the uniqueness of Sienna Miller, or you just fancy buying a one-off piece to express your fashion style, you won’t be disappointed.
With over 700 visitors through the door, best to get there early to secure the best bargains. Prices range for £5.00 to £500.00 - so there’s something for everyone.
