June 26, 2006 (Press Release) --
Can Math be taught as fun? Can kids learn the way it was originally meant to be?
In earlier times, parents and children grappled with these questions, and couldn’t find answers.
The advent of the Internet has changed the scene completely. Today children can learn Math in a fun environment by playing many online Math games, and learning the intricacies of Math in a fun way.
Education has to be fun and it has been reiterated by many a educationist and social scientists. Too much emphasis on examinations, class work has robbed the charm of education.
There is slowly an awareness creeping among many parents that there is something wrong in the way our children are learning their subjects.
Many children shudder at the thought of a teacher who keeps on treating the students as a machine that answers math questions.
Man is not a logical animal by nature. If one observes children carefully, it can be seen that children are more right brained in their thinking and actions.
What is the meaning of right brained thinking is that a person observes things and feels things rather than make any logical judgments about it. To put it simply, right brain observes and left brain analyses. The right brain is intuitive and left brain logical.
Children tend to learn things on their own and there is no need to force them into a routine. They tend to pick cues and see things around them. Children are inquisitive and thus they should be allowed to learn the fun way.
There is somehow a dread of math among the children. If Math is taught in a non judgmental and unbiased way, then it can be extremely engaging and fun to learn. Today, the emphasis seems to be on the end result than the process itself
Children are always scared of doing Homework. However, if Math is taught as a game, as a fascinating subject, then children would be more than happy to finish the homework.
Math is a very important subject for children who want to be scientists and architects. Without a solid foundation in the fundamentals such as trigonometry, algebra and calculus, no child can hope to become a scientist. It is all very well dreaming about becoming a space scientist someday, but it would be only a dream till one doesnot perfect himself in Math.
Math has many applications ranging from geography to space. If one wants to become a geologist studying the tectonic belts, predicting earthquakes, then one has to be adept at complex mathematics. The top sites providing such an interesting, interactive education are edu4kids.com, educationtrak.com.
www.Educationtrak.com wants to be part of a revolution that will change the way Math is taught. With educationtrak programmes, there is no more boredom as the learning is interactive and fun.
