With renewable energy, India is all set to provide unrestricted energy to people in an eco- friendly manner by 2050.

Adding up to 7% of the installed capacity of power generation in India, renewable sources of energy account for more than 7,500 MW. However, it’s anticipated that the renewable sources will add up to 1,00,000 MW by the year 2050.
In 2005, electricity generation in India grew at a CAGR of 6.2%. However the demand far exceeded the supply by 12.1%. At present India enjoys an institutional capacity of 135,000 MW, which primarily includes hydro, thermal, nuclear & renewable energy sources. The country is anticipated to add up to 620,000 MW to this within the next 20 years.
