Xeric Design, Ltd. Is pleased to announce the immediate availability of EarthDesk 3.5, its real-time dynamic desktop map, for MS Windows.
EarthDesk replaces your static wallpaper with a photo-realistic image of the Earth showing current sun, moon and city illumination as well as real-time global cloud coverage (hurricanes, storms, and worldwide weather systems) on your Windows desktop.
The software operates silently in the background, keeping your desktop updated while you work. Unlike a screen saver, which only appears when your system is idle, EarthDesk's dynamic desktop is continuously displayed as Windows wallpaper.
New in version 3.5:
- Proxy authorization support for cloud image downloads.
- Added a cloud download progress indicator.
- EarthDesk no longer renders its image while a screen saver is active.
- EarthDesk does not render during inactive XP sessions.
- Political map updated to recognize the independence of Montenegro.
- Cloud images are now date-verified to be newer than the previous image.
EarthDesk is the only application of its kind to support accurate moonlight, multiple monitors, eleven different map projections, as well as political and satellite views.
