Philip Dodson, Managing Director of leading online office-finding service for businesses, Office Planet recently took to his bike to participate in the 2006 British Heart Foundation London to Brighton bike ride.
The ride is the British Heart Foundation’s biggest fund raising event of the year and is one of the largest bike rides in Europe. With thousands of applications being turned away each year, Philip successfully secured his place in the ride, which took off from Clapham Common on Sunday 18 June at 6am.
Joining over 27,000 other bike riders, Philip had a grueling 54 miles ahead of him despite temperatures soaring to 27 degrees. Joining many in the sea at Brighton at the conclusion of the ride, Philip was elated to have completed the ride raising over £2,000 for the charity with his team members Julian Price, Liz Orton and Steve Clunes.
“I’ve never taken part in anything like this before, and really wasn’t sure that I’d make it to the end. But the atmosphere on the day was amazing, I’m pleased to have taken part and raised money for charity,” commented Philip Dodson.
Since it started in 1980 the event has raised more than £35 million for the British Heart Foundation charity.
