July 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
San Francisco, CA. July 5, 2006: Mark McCollum of Toyota Marin scorched a lush green course at Wente Vineyards last week to capture the first leg of the izmocars Rainmaker Invitational and earn a trip to Pebble Beach to play for the izmocars National Championship. McCollum shot a 69 for the day.
While the temperature hit 100 degrees on the elevated 9th hole, fifteen Bay Area Auto Dealers from the San Francisco Region participated in the first leg of the izmocars Golf Tour, 2006 in Livermore, California.
Jim Bailey took home the silver for the fewest putts on the course. In his case the silver was actually gold as the dealership won an izmocars email program for six months.
Paul Campagna of Folsom Lake Ford won the longest drive contest and finished the course one stroke behind McCollum, while Bill Benak of Sunnyvale Ford captured the straightest drive award and Doug Melonoph of University Honda was closest to the pin out of all the linksmen at the tournament.
The tour izmocars Rainmaker Invitational Golf tour, 2006, continues on July 11th in Atlanta as dealers will congregate at The PineIsle Golf Course to play the second leg of the Rainmaker Invitational. The remaining eight legs of the tour will continue in Boston, Scottsdale, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, San Diego, Las Vegas, and New York, culminating in Pebble Beach, California on March 4, 2007.
