July 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
The Palm Beach Imperials, one of the American Basketball Association’s leading teams for the 2006-2007 season recently appealed to the local community for team support and according to General Manager and Head Coach Lamont Carr, “the response has been tremendous.”
“People have been so enthusiastic,” said Coach Carr. “The need to have fan-friendly affordable professional basketball entertainment in Palm Beach is long overdue and everyone I speak to seems to agree, he added “and they’re eager to join in and help out.”
The investor has taken a sizeable interest in the Palm Beach Imperials, who are slated to start their inaugural season in Boca Raton playing all 18 home games at the Florida Atlantic University Arena, “The Burrow”.
As per the agreement between the Imperials and the investor, the team is unable to disclose to the public the name of the investor or the terms of the agreement. Because of this agreement, the team is now in a better position to move forward with its development.
Although this infusion of capital undeniably allows the team to expand, the Imperials are hopeful that other investors will support their hometown team in its goal to meet the ABA Standards and Requirements and have a successful season.
