Re-Ment Co., Ltd., the makers of Puchi Petite Collections™, has opened its first international branch, Re-Ment International. The new branch will launch its initial American product line in California
For_Immediate_Release:

July 11, 2006 (Press Release) -- VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, JULY 15, 2006—Re-Ment Co., Ltd., the Japanese company that makes the popular Puchi Petite Collections™, has opened its first international branch, Re-Ment International, Inc. The new branch, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, plans to launch its initial American product line in California later this month.

Re-Ment plans to break into the U.S. market by promoting its miniature collectibles to the adult female market, a strategy that earned the 8-year-old company almost $25 million in Japan last year alone. In fact, their Puchi Petites are so popular in Japan, they’ve sold more than 50 million pieces since the first series launched in October of 2002. It’s an achievement John Yi, president of Re-Ment International, plans to replicate in the U.S.

“We believe the American market is ripe for our products,” says Yi. “No matter what their culture, women everywhere have much in common. Americans have fallen in love with Japanese art and culture, even embracing games like Yu-Gi-Oh!™, but they’ve never seen anything like Puchi Petites.”

Yi says the company will continue to use the same production techniques used in Japan, which includes hand-painting every miniature piece. Their scaled miniatures also depict everyday items rather than exotic novelties, which Yi expects to be a big selling point.

“I know American women will love the detail and sense of nostalgia they’ll discover in our Puchi Petites,” he says. “We want Puchi Petites to bring them the same sense of childlike wonder they experienced playing with dolls as little girls. Best of all, we offer them all that at a fraction of the cost of most collectibles and doll-house sets.”

The Japanese parent company has always focused on setting the standard for their industry. Re-Ment’s goal, through Re-Ment International, continues to be to offer consumers lasting value in products that bring excitement, convenience, value, a sense of fun, and pride of ownership. According to Re-Ment Japan’s founder, Hirokazu Ohtake, pleasing customers will always be the company’s top priority.

“When our customers are happy,” says Ohtake, “then we can be happy, too.”
