SEO World Cup Officials announced today the start date for the competition will be August 1, 2006. That’s when officials will reveal the keyword phrase that will be used to determine the winners of the event.
Registered participants are provided a keyword phrase to incorporate into their webpage to make it searchable on the Internet. Their webpage must rank in the top results of the big three search engines on the predetermined date to qualify to win. Details about the competition are available at their official website www.seoworldcup.com.
“There have been several attempts to conduct an SEO competition of this magnitude in the past, but without any notable success. We are looking for vast participation in this event to create some excitement around the whole SEO industry,” says the founder of SEO World Cup.
The organizers say they are in negotiations with potential sponsors for the event, but have been tight lipped about the details. They are currently considering all levels of sponsorship for the event which promises to be global in proportion.
