July 14, 2006 (Press Release) -- Expert and amateur hosts alike will enjoy the new Food and Wine Pairing Guide available from ArcaMax Publishing, a major online source of free family-friendly news and fun.

A new branch of their popular Recipes section, ArcaMax's Food and Wine Pairing Guide ( http://www.arcamax.com/recipes/food_and_wine_pairing ) is a simple, yet detailed, source for both choosing wine and serving it properly. It joins a variety of other free content, including a searchable database, weekly menu planner, healthy eating tips, and more.

"The majority of our Home channel deals with family and around-the-house advice," says ArcaMax CEO Scott Wolf, "but we also know our readers want advice on things like entertaining. These, and many of our other recipes, have become an indispensible guide to entertaining for many of our readers."

The Wine Pairing Guide covers a variety of red and white wines, as well as other beverages, including their characteristics and a selection of the dishes they best complement. The dishes listed in the guide include many broad suggestions to make choosing wines for specific dishes easier, and many include several options for the same food.

For readers ready to experiment on their own, there are also tips for coming up with their own pairings. Simple tips serve as a guide to making sure wines, as the site says, "complement the taste of the dish, not overpower it." Easy-to-remember rules of thumb serve as a guide as well. To make sure the wine is at its absolute best, tips are also given for the proper temperature at which to serve each variety.

Wolf calls the guide "simple and straightforward," and adds, "Many people consider anything dealing with wine to be out of their element. We're taking the mystery out of it and making it much more accessible."

The Food and Wine Pairing Guide ( http://www.arcamax.com/recipes/food_and_wine_pairing ) is the newest addition to the ArcaMax Recipes section, which also features free daily e-mail newsletters (ezines) with recipes from a variety of contributors. The ArcaMax site also includes parenting advice, business news, popular syndicated columns and comics, and a free online book club. Visit http://www.arcamax.com to find out more, or subscribe to one of their free ezines at http://www.arcamax.com/cgi-bin/reg .
