Sources in the New York Rangers organization have informed Canadian Sports Television that the team has agreed to terms with free-agent Michael Peca. The 32 year-old center, who last season played for the Western Conference Champion
Edmonton Oilers, has signed a three-year, $9.6 million(US) contract.
"We're very excited to have a player like Mike on our team" said Assistant General Manager Don Malony. "The leadership and experience he'll bring to our team will be invaluable."
Neither Peca nor Rangers President/General Manager Glen Sather could be reached for comment.
