July 25, 2006 (Press Release) --
For Immediate Release
Washington, DC, July 25, 2006--Leadership IQ, Inc. (“IQ”), the management consulting think tank and the industry’s leading boutique specializing in leadership research and advisory services, today announced the launch of a new seminar program “What Great Negotiators Do Differently”. The Great Negotiator program is the latest in a series of IQ executive enhancement modules and was developed in response to the extraordinary increase in corporate transaction activity, coupled with overwhelming feedback from the company’s core client base. According to a recent study of more than 5000 senior executives, 94% have acknowledged that their “negotiating skills need more work.” Leadership IQ also announced the opening of two additional corporate offices in Atlanta, GA and Westport, CT to support the firm’s expansion.
According to Mark Murphy, Leadership IQ’s Founder and CEO, “As the dynamics of the business landscape continues to evolve, the way we communicate, particularly the nuances of negotiating, has become a key benchmark for gauging leadership effectiveness. From a corporate perspective, whether negotiating compensation agreements, a re-financing, an acquisition, or a major sales contract, it comes down to striking pacts that make sense; anything short of a win-win negotiation will prove to be a long-term loss, and our program addresses the most intricate aspects of how to be a truly great negotiator.”
Murphy added, “The massive increase in the number of deal makers backed with billions of dollars of capital is creating an unheralded amount of transaction activity, and in turn,
introducing greater intricacies to the negotiating battlefield. The impact of any of these deals is monumental and the rules of engagement have changed. We’re seeing too many participants walking into these battles ill-equipped, but more importantly, our clients, who sit on either side of Board Room tables, are telling us that their generals need to have their negotiating skills updated, and that their soldiers need to be better trained and better armed with more advanced negotiation tool sets.”
