I have had a lot of fun writing songs over the past 24 years and sharing them with folks. There is something magical about music it's like a universal language that brings folks together. Also a public speaker, Sunny James
got her stage name Sunny from her husband Dale because she was always happy and smiling and James from her father the late James A. Tarleton who taught her to play guitar at the age of 8 and inspired her to write songs as he did.
Using my stage name Sunny James, this way I always keep him close in my heart each and every time I perform. Sunny whose real name is Beth Schmader is a native of he Oil City, Pa. where she was born and raised and still lives in the area with her husband Dale and son Sonny. Recording 4 cds and a music video to her signature song Hills of Pennsylvania. which is a down home touch your heart song that is on the collectors edition 2 song cd entitled "Punxsutawney Phil" doing Radio & tv interviews on channel wsee channel 35 and channel 12 in Erie Pennsylvania, featuring her song Hills of Pennsylvania and Punxsutawney Phil that silly ole ground hog.
The words in the chorus say
"If he sees his shaddow we'll have 6 more weeks of winter, but if he doesn't then we'll start on spring and they say Phil Phil Punxsutawney Phil oh don't see your shaddow oh please don't Phil.
I want to see the flowers & the hills turn green,
I want to think spring if you know what I mean,
Phil Phil Punxsutawney Phi-----il if you see your shaddow better run for the hill.
Folks really get a big kick out of the song it just tells the story of what goes on on ground hog day in the little town of Punxsutwney,Pa.
It's just amazing the amount of attention this little critter gets. I just love animals and one day when they were showing Punxsutawney Phil on t.v. my husband Dale says to me, "You love animals, you ought to write a song about Punxsutawney Phil. So I did and when I first wrote the song my promoter sent it over to the Punxsutawney chamber of commerece and they liked it so much they invited me over to sing it at their national press conference where reporters for television stations and newspapers from all over the world come to get the coverage of ground hog day. It was so fun and I got to meet Phil in person. and he is even cuter in real life.
If you would like to hear the song or purchase it go to Sunnys website sunnyjames.com
