PLANO, TEXAS -- Local artist is tackling a monster project to create Pop Culture Art History using the internet as his main tool.
Michael Holt, of Art Angel Studio, is attempting to create a portrait mosaic tile art piece made of one million images to be auctioned and the proceeds given to charity.
The Pop Culture Art Project is located at: www.popcultureartproject.com and is currently accepting submissions.
The art piece, currently titled “Faces of Change”, will consist of
individually submitted portraits cropped into a square and scaled to one-half inch and tiled into a single image.
Once completed, the mosaic art work will be auctioned off and the proceeds will be given to charitable organizations that include: The ONE campaign to end poverty, the Global Fund, and the North Texas Food Bank.
