Theater am Spittelberg: Colorful Summer Mix
With a colorful and varied program of music, theater, cabaret, and comedy, the Theater am Spittelberg will attract audiences from June to September. This is an ideal location to end a sightseeing tour through this revitalized Biedermeier section of Vienna...
The program of the so-called Pawlatschen theaters (a covered stage in an inner courtyard) is varied and features many local big names. In the midst of the old romantic "Spittelberg” quarter near the MuseumsQuartier, this stage offers the opportunity to relax after a city stroll or sightseeing tour.
Participants include the great accordionist Otto Lechner, the Viennese star singer Georg Danzer, Erika Pluhar singing chansons and Viennese songs offered by Karl Hodina & Roland Neuwirth or "Kollegium Kalksburg."
World music of all genres is also represented: Alegre Corręa & Ana Paula da Silva offer Brazilian sounds, and the Vienna Klezmer Band will delight audiences – as will stars of native folk music "Hotel Palindrone." There is also a children’s program with Marko Simsa and the fairy-tale stage “Apple Tree.”
