SILLIE SALLIE'S GIGGLE-A-GO GO (7 comics, 4 musicians & DJ) will perform in Central Park at the Bandshell. Saturday, August 5th, 7PM-9. This culminates of a 13 year long Mission of Cheer.

This Saturday, August 5, 2006 ay 7PM at the Central Park Bandshell, Sallie Ottavino Elkordy, candidate in 2006 for Governor for the Women's Party, will be celebrating her 800th "Fun-Raiser". Sillie Sallie the Jollie Jestress has been on a Mission of Cheer to raise spirits, awareness and eyebrows, producing and hosting shows in hospitals, homeless shelters, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, llibraries, parks and playgrounds for the past 13 years for free to the organizations (or in this case, the public) she serves. Although she pays the professional performers she works with (250 in all, mostly stand-up comics), she also includes child musicians from time to time so that they have "a gig" to practice for.
Sallie started a cable access TV show highlighting the organizations she volunteers for along with the many comics she works with and in doing so realized that people were actually paying attention. She decided to use this powerful medium to actively change the world and started interviewing women by asking them one question, "What is important to you?". The answers she received make up the Mission Statement for the WOMEN'S PARTY: PEACE, EDUCATION, ACTIVISM, RESPECT AND LOVE.
Sallie has always voted for women, as if it were her political party and became interested in registering to vote because of Geraldine Ferraro's historic run as Vice President under Walter Mondale in the 1980's. She has always believed that women are as important as men (the actual definition of a feminist- surprised?), but more importantly, that women all wanted the same things. The 200 women she has interviewed over the past 3 years have proven to her that she was correct in what had previously been her assumption and so the Women's Party was born.
2006 ~ SALLIE FOR GOVERNOR OF NYS PUTS WOMEN'S PARTY ON THE BALLOT 2008. Becuse the #1 thing women consider to be important is PEACE, the time for the Women's Party (WP) has come. If she can get 15,000 signatures, WP will be on the ballot in 2006 for governor. If she/WP can get 50,000 votes (which is easier than the signatures AND she doesn't even have to win) then the Women's Party is on the ballot for the Presidency of the United States in 2008!!!
Every NYS registered voter can help, but each must ACT IMMEDIATELY (as future elections may require many more signatures and because a woman's perspective at the TOP is needed right this minute!):
