August 7th, 2006 (Dallas, Texas) -- To end the summer portion of the Metro Muzik The Union 2006 Concert Series, 7PM Inc. proudly presents Operation Shutdown II – The Return of Devin The Dude Live at Club Tom Cats on August 20th, 2006.
Signed to the Legendary Houston, Texas based Rap-A-Lot Records (home to Scarface & UGK), Devin the Dude is probably the greatest hip-hop artist you’ve never heard of. He crooned his way onto “F*** You” on Dr. Dre’s 2001 and he represented for thick women on De La Soul’s “Baby Phat.”
This Houston rapper, once called the new Too $hort, has laid down three impressive solo efforts: The Dude (1998), Just Trying’ to Live (2002) and To tha X-Treme (2004). All three albums have highlighted his impressive storytelling skills and makes him one of the most respected and sought-after artists in the industry. As one of the few emcees who have worked with the best in the underground, mainstream, East, West and South, Devin is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.
Opening for Devin the Dude will be Dallas, Texas Natives J.B. (Richmind Records), Innocents (DOE Entertainment), Stram (Mobb Squad) and Oklahoma’s own Northwest Alliance.
