SAN FRANCISCO –CA – August 9, 2006 – The African Network (TAN), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the growth of entrepreneurship and technology in Africa and among people of African descent worldwide, today announced that registration for its inaugural annual conference TANCon 2006 has started. The conference will be held on Saturday, October 14 2006 at the Grand Hyatt hotel located at Union Square, San Francisco.
“We are very excited about the potential impact of TAN and TANCon 2006 on Africa’s growth potential both in technology and entrepreneurship,” stated Peter Alfred-Adekeye, Chairman and founder of TAN. “The response to TANCon has been encouraging and we anticipate that this is the first of many successes to come.”
The theme for TANCon 2006 is “Fostering African Entrepreneurship”, to reflect the growing number of African entrepreneurs in business today, and to showcase to the world Africa's limitless intellectual and economic capital. This year’s attendees include seasoned, as well as first-time entrepreneurs, business leaders, venture capitalists and investment bankers interested in learning first-hand how to successfully invest in technology and in Africa.
