Music-Web released its wiki based Music Encyclopedia on the 7 August. This ambitous project was set up by the Music-Web community to rival wikipedia's music articles.
Many members wanted a better online music encyclopedia that dealt with issues that concern musicians, composers and producers. So the wiki based encyclopedia was born.
Just two weeks since opening Music-Web's Music Encyclopedia has over 1000 pages 170 of them being substantial articles. The Music-Web project is open to anyone, expert or not. All that is required is a free membership at Music-Web's forums where the community gather to talk about different aspects of the encyclopedia and other area of music.
It is believed that one day Music-Web's Music Encyclopedia will surpass Wikipedia's music section and become one of the top resources for musicians.
