August 17, 2006 (Press Release) -- It could come to body blows.
Supermodels Elle Macpherson and Heidi Klum are battling over the nickname "The Body."
Klum is hawking a new line of bras for Victoria's Secret called The Body Bra. In the lingerie company's TV commercial Klum says, "They call me 'The Body' and now I have a bra named after me."
But a spokeswoman for Macpherson's Intimates brand of lingerie doesn't agree.
"We saw that and were like 'Oh, my God!' ... Everything from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue to the recent Sports Illustrated calls her that. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle," the spokeswoman told the New York Daily News.
"We have press clippings and newscaster reports for nearly 10 years calling Heidi 'The Body,' " Ed Razek of Victoria's Secret told Sky News. "There was 'The Body' before Elle and there will be one after Heidi."
