August 17, 2006 (Press Release) --
Just days after Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson announced their separation, a frequently whispered Hollywood rumor about a dalliance between Hudson and her "You, Me and Dupree" co-star Owen Wilson is about to hit the cover of Us Weekly.
The celebrity magazine trumpets "Kate and Owen's Secret Affair" in its new issue -- hitting newsstands Friday.
Though the allegation is denied by representatives of all involved, Wilson's attorney goes one step further, issuing a statement that anything "that suggests the separation of Ms. Hudson was caused by Mr. Wilson ... is absolutely false."
Two Hollywood sources told this column Wednesday that while the two actors did become close friends while filming "Dupree," it was more a case of Hudson being consoled -- talking to Wilson about the collapse of her marriage, which already had occurred.
A big tip-off to the problems in the Hudson-Robinson relationship came when the actress never visited her rock-star hubby during his current U.S. tour.
According to the Us article, Hudson has spent several nights at Wilson's Santa Monica, Calif., home in the last few weeks. A source close to the couple told the magazine, "This is not a fling. Kate is crazy about him. Owen gives her so much attention, and she loves it. [That's why] she wants her marriage to be over."
ON THEIR TOES: The famous Radio City Rockettes are painting the town -- and some Chicago toes -- red today. The high-kicking beauties will be at the 111 E. Wacker plaza from noon to 2 p.m., hosting free pedicures (with the new "Rockette Red" nail polish) for the first 100 people who show up -- who'll also get tickets to the Rockettes annual holiday show in Rosemont. A $10 donation for each pedicure goes to the Medical Research Junior Board Foundation of Children's Memorial Hospital.
BLAST FROM PAST: Three of the original Mouseketeers (Bobby, Cubby and Sharon) will be at Harlem Irving Plaza at 2 p.m. Sunday to celebrate the plaza's 50th anniversary -- and the 50 years since the Mickey Mouse Club was established.
ENGAGING ISSUES: Even though Kate Moss says she's being "totally supportive" of her troubled, on-again-off-again beau Pete Doherty's struggles to overcome with his addictions -- her spokesman denies reports that the big diamond on her left hand is an engagement ring. Turns out it's just another bauble from Kate's extensive personal jewelry collection.
