The 1st Annual New York City Canine Cruise and BARC Fundraiser
New York City, New York – August 17, 2006
A unique and exciting recreational canine event is coming to the City of New York. September 10, 2006, is The Day the Doggies Take over the Hudson. This is the event to close out summer with a BARK! The 1st Annual New York City Canine Cruise is for the diminutive dog (20 pounds and under) of New York City, the tri-state area, and beyond. Small dogs, their owners and friends will cruise around the New York City Harbor on a chartered Circle Line, for a 3-hour sight-seeing tour and doggie-centric on-board activities! All of this fun while raising funds for BARC, a worthy no-kill animal shelter out of Brooklyn, New York.
“I wanted to create a unique, purposeful, and memorably fun annual event for people like me, who actively seek out dog-friendly venues and events. This is only the beginning!” explains Rece Reid, the Organizer of the 1st Annual New York City Canine Cruise. Many canine-oriented businesses and service providers are excited to participate. Canine Cruisers will benefit from the expertise of bestselling Author, Tracie Hotchner, "The Dog Bible: Everything Your Dog Wants Your to know" who will be on board to answer everyone’s canine questions and concerns. Andrea Arden, Dog Trainer and author will also be in attendance, imparting advice and tips to Cruisers.
The fund-raising raffle boasts an inventory of goodies that will have any respectable pooch panting and wagging! One hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle go to the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC).
Interested Press and Media are invited to join us at Pier 83 on September 10, 2006 starting at 11:00 a.m. for “Bark Voyage” festivities. Canine Cruise Organizer, Rece Reid, BARC Shelter co-founder, Vincent Spinola, and other Canine Cruise supporters will be on hand to share our excitement about this unprecedented event.
