August 28, 2006 (Press Release) --
Dylan and opening act Kings of Leon will appear at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28 at the 11,800-seat multipurpose arena. The venue is adjacent to the Prairie Stone business park, between the Illinois 59 and Beverly Road exits from the Northwest Tollway.
Tickets have yet to go on sale.
But the Sears Centre will not be a Ticketmaster venue. Tickets will be available through (888) SEARSTIX (732-7784) or www.searscentre.com.
Dylan's fall tour -- supporting his new CD, "Modern Times," to be released on Tuesday -- also will take him to the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., for a Halloween night show, with the Foo Fighters opening with an acoustic set.
Dylan also is appearing on Google Video, with seldom-seen footage that includes a 1969 performance with Johnny Cash of "Girl From the North Country" and Dylan's "60 Minutes" interview with Ed Bradley.
The $70 million Sears Centre will also be the home of the Chicago Storm soccer team, the Chicago Hounds of the United Hockey League and the Chicago Shamrox of the National Lacrosse League. The arena has 2,500 parking spaces on site.
