Germs on a Plane Vs Snakes
Sure we all heard about the snakes on a plane movie. In fact, many people thought the title was brilliant. What is so brilliant about telling you what the movie is about in the title? It wasn’t about baboons on a plane, was it? The title of the movie simply grabs you by the throat, if you could excuse the analogy.
Germs are a threat to human life too, but would the title “Germs on a Plane” grab your attention? What about the attention of the general public? I don’t think so either. Snakes, lions, dragons, even hamsters on a plane would get more attention than “Germs on a Plane!”
How come germs are so not-threatening to people? I think I know and here it is. If you can’t see them, they can’t hurt you! You can imagine those snakes and lions and what ever, charging down the aisles of a plane, but germs? Ho Hum. Boring.
Now, if every germ on the plane, or on your hands, or on the table where you are having dinner were suddenly to morph a million times larger, I think people would react. Since it takes a powerful microscope to even see a germ, how can such a tiny insignificant thing do us harm?
Let us count the ways! Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Hepatitis A, Rhino virus…I think you get the idea. So the movie title “Germs on Your Hands” would be a dismal failure eliciting a few yawns. Unfortunately, what you can’t see, can hurt you!
Now there is a new weapon to help in the fight against those invisible monsters called germs. It’s in the form of a cartoon handwashing poster with cartoon style images of germs attacking a human hand. Finally, these threatening little monsters called germs get the attention they deserve and direct people to the nearest handwashing facility.
So even though the title “Germs on a Plane” would never be a great attention getter, the handwashing posters at www.handwashing.com do just that. They get people’s attention reminding them that there are things that can be just as threatening as Snakes on a Plane. Also, they show you a simple way of dealing with this threat which is, “Scrub those Hands!”

People get all upset over the concept of snakes on a plane, but what about germs? This articles shows how germs are worthy of worry and how to fight them through handwashing.
