August 31, 2006 (Press Release) --
One80 Youth Media Group has been identified as a trusted educator for media literacy. Our national award winning program is designed to instruct youth toward a better understanding and use of public media. As a partner in education, our media literacy tools were developed in conjunction with post-secondary faculties and media professionals from across North America.
One80 Youth Media Group delivers the premiere youth newspaper across the GTA and is the largest youth collective newspaper in Canada publishing over 55,000 copies monthly. We distribute to over 500 pick-up locations including major malls, secondary schools, HMV's and high traffic youth facilities. All of our contributors are local GTA youth volunteers between the ages of 14-24 years of age. We are very successful reaching out to the youth market, because WE ARE the youth market. We are a proud program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada and partner in education for media literacy and civic journalism.
