Kimberly McCormick is teaching scrapbooking classes to assist anyone with a photo to create interesting scrapbook pages. While many people think scrapbooking is only for moms with too much time on their hands or photographers with too many photos to frame, Mrs. McCormick is showing even the most timid of designers how to use simple tools and embellishments to create eye catching scrapbook pages that preserve treasured memories for years to come.
Says McCormick, “Scrapbooking is a great way to preserve special moments, and memories. In my experience, people will say "I would never forget that," but down the road, our memories don't serve us as well as expected, and memories are lost. By scrapbooking, memories are alive forever.”
While ideas and templates for scrapbooking are only as far away as your internet access or favorite magazine, Kimberly McCormick has designed scrapbook classes that are interactive, fun, and entertaining! These classes allow people to learn from each other, as well as the instructor, while developing friendships and beautiful scrapbook pages to keep memories sharp for years to come.
Many people think of scrapbooking as a way to preserve wedding photos and baby pictures. Kimberly McCormick teaches scrapbookers to create custom pages to memorialize vacations, sporting events, parties, graduations, and every significant event worth taking pictures of. Mrs. McCormick’s classes include “Make it and Take It” courses where specific pages are designed with provided materials and class participants take their creations home, as well as “Parent and Child” classes where children learn to create scrapbook pages of their own special memories, and as gifts with the help of a parent.
Scrapbooks are the story boards that let grandmothers engage their grandchildren in vivid walks through the memories of their own childhoods! Scrapbooks bring families back together across the miles to share missed events such as births, marriages, and graduations. More importantly, scrapbooks preserve the photographs that retell our memories. Photos left in bags and boxes yellow and deteriorate with age. Photographs protected in scrapbooks withstand the test of time to tell their stories over and over again.
Mrs. McCormick recognizes that the biggest hurdle most people face when starting to scrapbook is simply the overwhelming amount of choices to be made. What pictures to use, which products make the best pages, what colors enhance a story, what embellishments create the most meaningful backdrops to photos, etc. Kimberly’s classes are especially helpful to the beginning scrapbooker facing the tough decisions to get started, as well as to the seasoned scrapbooker looking for fresh ideas and approaches to creating books and pages.
