I'm writing to request your help.
Kyle Layman, a brave ten year old from Sheffield Lake, OH is suffering from systemic scleroderma, a progressive incurable autoimmune disease. His parents are doing everything they can but the costs of medical treatment are overwhelming. As a community, we are throwing a benefit dinner and would greatly appreciate any help you could extend to help get the word out. Thank you so much.
WHAT:
The systemic forms of scleroderma cause fibrosis (scar tissue) to be formed in the skin and/or internal organs. The fibrosis eventually causes the involved skin or organs to harden, which is why scleroderma is popularly known as the "disease that turns people into stone."
