The Simpson sisters are in the spotlight again.
Jessica Simpson, who is promoting her new album "A Public Affair" despite a vocal cord injury, recently debuted a new sleek bob.
"I needed to get rid of a lot of baggage," Simpson said of her new hairdo Tuesday on "The View."
There's no word on how this will affect the sales of HairDo, her upcoming line of hair extensions costing $85 to $95 for synthetic extensions to $500 for human hair.
"Her hair is the most wanted hair around the world," said Simpson's stylist Ken Paves, who helped her develop the extensions. "Jessica has single-handedly taken the taboo out of hair pieces."
While on "The View," Simpson also denied a recent People magazine article claiming she is in love with John Mayer. "He's my friend. I've known him for a couple of years," she said.
Meanwhile, Jessica's younger sister was seen over the weekend canoodling with a man at a New York bar. But she wasn't with her boyfriend and bandmate Braxton Olita.
Ashlee Simpson and Olita "broke up about a week ago. They have decided to take a break," the younger Simpson's publicist told Us Weekly.
Simpson spent at least part of her holiday weekend in the VIP section of Don Hill's bar with Pete Wentz of Chicago's Fall Out Boy, according to Us Weekly.
Wentz recently broke up with actress Michelle Trachtenberg to be with Simpson, a source told the magazine.
