A lion cub wanders away from the zoo and finds himself on a ship headed for Africa. His father, Samson (voice by Kiefer Sutherland), gives chase, accompanied by his zoo friends -- Benny the squirrel (James Belushi), Bridget the giraffe (Janeane Garofalo), Nigel the koala bear (Eddie Izzard) and Larry the Anaconda (Richard Kind). In Africa, they're confronted by the fearsome Kazar (William Shatner), a wildebeest who challenges Samson for the title of King of the Jungle and apparently does not know that as a wildebeest he is a vegetarian. Fun for kids, not so much for adults. Rated G. (Ebert) DVD special features: deleted scenes; blunders and bloopers; Everlife music video.
