Urban Dreams, a Toronto based organization has launched BANG BANG condoms, Canada’s first line of condoms manufactured and marketed towards hip-hop culture. As the face HIV/AIDS changes and continues to spread at alarming rates (up 30% since 1999, women infected up 100% in Ontario) alone with Toronto being the hardest hit. The hip-hop culture, which includes urban and suburban communities, must be responsible and accountable for dealing with the effects of this deadly epidemic. HIV/AIDS outreach and educational programs must be designed to reach inner city and suburban kids who are turned off by the medical jargon currently used to promote condom usage. Urban Dreams was created as a vehicle to inform and save lives from this tragic pandemic. BANG BANG condoms are the product(s), which help us meet our mission. They are manufactured to international quality standards, from premium quality latex, lubricated for comfort and sensitivity with a special reservoir tip for extra safety. The BANG BANG brand logo and packaging incorporates silhouette art into its design to attract and peak the interest of sexually actives persons ages 18 – 34; the highest at risk population. Our vision is to make the BANG BANG Product(s) and logo synonymous with responsible sexual behavior in hip-hop culture, be it urban or suburban communities. Our competitive edge is that we are a part of the community we market towards. Urban Dreams will be collaborating with health organizations and community groups to convey our message. Never, ever forget to wear your BANG BANG. We believe it is important to develop messages that resonate with young people so that they can get the information they need to protect themselves from STD and pregnancy. If we can encourage a generation to be more responsible, we believe we are doing a good deed indeed!
