September 21, 2006 (Press Release) --
Hello. My name is Gerald Cooper from Ohio. While growing up, I was a huge NBC fan. I have come to say that I no longer am. With Kevin Reilly, an executive at NBC, saying that Madonna considering the scene of mocking the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ being the highlight of her upcoming show, and, “We (NBC) viewed it and didn’t see it as being inappropriate.” , has me realize that NBC can no longer be considered "family oriented" in my home. Madonna considers mocking the crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ the highlight of her show and NBC finds it to be not inappropriate. Following the lead of Rosie O'Donnell and ABC, NBC has decided to join in the bashing of Christians by airing a Madonna special in November. In 1989 Madonna had a video for the hit song "Like A Prayer." The video featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna herself--representing Jesus--freeing a saint from his sexual repression by seducing him. This is the same Madonna who once said, "Crucifixes are sexy because there's a naked man on them." . That is a very, very cruel point of view. That's like saying that the electric chair is sexy because you get well done man meat afterwards. Crucifixions were executions, and Madonna thinks it's sexy because the men were naked. The men were humiliated publicly by being naked before execution. If someone thinks that's sexy, they have a sick mind. As well must NBC, seeing that they choose to nationally promote the views of a person who thinks, "Crucifixes are sexy because there's a naked man on them." . NBC, like ABC, are redefining what is acceptable, what is right and what is good. I used that word 'redefining' to show that words such as good and right already have definition, and NBC like ABC do not care for the original definitions because they are judged by them. And that is the truth ... which will set you free.
Maranatha,
Gerald Cooper
