Why is search engine marketing and optimization so crucial and effective for the longevity and success of businesses?

The days of mass or bulk emailing are long gone. The painstaking task of hours of harvesting leads and then having to call them are a thing of the past. The honest truth about purchasing "qualified" leads is a bunch of garbage. The majority of the list is from people who were filling out a survey or other information to win something, not interested in starting a home business. These types of leads are from the scammers just trying to make a quick buck.

So many "hype" and "scam" opportunities are going around that no one wants to even bother with them, thus deleting the emails before even being opened.

The key to sales generation and traffic is having an effective, marketable website.

Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista and other search engines DO NOT like replicated websites. These search engines simply "pass by" these types of websites, why? Because there are to many replicated websites with no specific keywords, keyword content and meta tag information or fresh ad content for recognition by the spiders.

Before one gets involved in a business, the first priority is to review the program. What's the business about, what's involved, why is it credible, honest or legitimate? Can one truly make money with it? Is it something one can be proud to represent and not rip people off. Basically, learn what the business is about, so one can effectively market and promote it. Feel good about what's being promoted. Without the knowledge of what one is involved in, or the gratifying feeling of being in a good program, the success of the business will fail.

Once the choice has been made on which business to become involved in, the next step is to plan the marketing and promoting strategy. Does one want to try the failing bulk email, free ads route; or take it to the most powerful and effective level of search engine marketing and optimization? The choice made needs to be made with the careful consideration to the business's success. The wrong choice will guarantee failure.

The problem on the internet today is the false, misleading splash pages that draw individuals to it, gets them to sign up and then leaves one to figure out how to make that 4, 5 or 6 figure income.

The flashy or enticing offers always lure people in and the hope and dream of making that 4, 5 or 6 figure income is quickly dashed once the person finds out the true, hidden information/agenda behind the program and the intense marketing that will need to be done just to generate traffic and sales, not to mention the money and time invested.

The next problem is trying to keep the signed up members involved. If these new members don't succeed, they will leave and one is back to the drawing board trying to generate new members. If an effective marketing system is in place, one can pass this on to new members and everyone succeeds, thus retaining membership and earning the residual income.

The most effective source of marketing for success is in press release and ezine writing, creating an informational website page and blogging.

No one wants to be sold anything. What attracts new visitor is informational data. When one can read about a business opportunity and it's benefits, it's more likely to generate traffic and sales than a splashy, hyped up replicated website.

Learn to effectively write promotional articles and create informational web pages pertaining to the business/product/service being offered.

Telling people about something versus selling is the best weapon one can attain to create business success and profitability.
