Author RL Stine made his name writing the massive-selling Goosebumps series and other chillers such as Fear Street and The Nightmare Hour.
But the American JK Rowling also turned his attention to comedy and – helping with the Rowling tag – school stories. Now Fox has come calling to option the series The Rotten School, which focuses on the boarding school mishaps of Bernie Bridges as he hatches plots against teachers and nasty fellow students.
Thanks to Stine’s swift pace, there are eight books already in the series despite it having launched just last year. There’s no writer or director attached yet.
